Treadle Sewing on my Necchi BU
Here I complete a small project on my vintage, Italian made Necchi BU (1940-50s era) which is powered in this video by an antique Singer treadle from 1922.
The Necchi BU is a smooth operating all-metal sewing machine that was manufactured in Italy. It was one of the first domestic machines to offer zig-zag stitching, and it does this particular stitch incredibly well. The machine is powerful and can sew through thick canvas fabrics with ease.
Though there is no record of the exact date this machine was manufactured, we do know that this particular model was produced from the late 1940s until the early 1950s.
